12 August 2009: Patinack Farm foundation sire Casino Prince became a father for the first time last week with the arrival of a bay filly foaled on August 5.

The newly born bay is a half-sister to Silent But Deadly who will be on a hat-trick the next time she steps out given back-to-back wins at Newcastle and at Canterbury today.

Silent But Deadly is a daughter of Rory’s Jester mare, Silent Smytzer, who was one of more than 150 mares who visited Casino Prince in his first season. Among the notable mares who visited the Group One winner were;

ROYAL ASSCHER – G3 winner, multiple Group placed
JADE TIARA – dam of World Champion Sprinter, Silent Witness
JAMBU (Fr) – Close relation to Australian Champion General Sires Encosta de Lago and Flying Spur
LAURA’S CHARM – Won Sunline Stakes – G2
HELSINGE – Dam of the exciting SW’er Black Caviar

Casino Prince also covered half, full or three-quarter-sisters to 20 Group One winners.

Patinack Farm stud manager Ben Lawrence who was present at the birth of Casino Prince’s first foal reports that both she and ‘mum’ are thriving.

“She’s a lovely filly, her father has stamped her quite obviously. She is a very athletic, well balanced filly and we’re very pleased with the first Casino Prince we’ve laid eyes on,” Lawrence said.

“If the rest of his foals are in keeping with her, then there is no doubt Casino Prince is going to make a top sire.”
