Australian Traveller Magazine Launches Great Eastern Ranges Photo Competition

25 November 2009: Do you want to test your photography mettle, get your photos published in Australia’s top travel magazine and win a swag of prizes valued at $22,000 into the bargain? You can simply by entering the Great Eastern Ranges Photo Competition.
The Great Eastern Ranges Initiative is a conservation effort that aims to maintain the length and breadth of existing natural mountain environments and restore links between them.
The Great Eastern Ranges Initiative, in partnership with Australian Traveller Magazine is commemorating this bold plan by calling out to photographers to submit their best photos in the following four categories:
My Community – People who live and work in the Great Eastern Ranges
My Escape – Landscapes, places and activities in the Great Eastern Ranges
My Habitat – Flora and Fauna of the Great Eastern Ranges
Young Gun – A category for under 21 year olds. The photo submission can be of anywhere on the Great Eastern Ranges
The prizes, awarded across all four categories, include:
• Three ultimate Coleman outdoor camping packages at a total value of $7500
• Three five-day all-inclusive rentals in a KEA vehicle of your choice at a total value of $6000
• Four Tamron AF 18-270 VC lenses at a total value of $5196
• Three luxury two-night packages at Lilianfels in the Blue Mountains, including dinner at Darley’s, at a total value of $3396
A panel of Australia’s best photographers including Grenville Turner, George Suresh, Inger Van Dyke and Australian Traveller Editor Greg Barton will judge the photos.
The winners will have their images published in the April/May 2010 issue of Australian Traveller Magazine and the winning shots will become part of a travelling exhibition throughout the Great Eastern Ranges.
